My husband and I were on a day trip in Bastrop. I’ve been driving by on my travels there from Garland, TX. We stopped in for a burger. Such GREAT COMFORT FOOD, STAFF & ATMOSPHERE! I haven’t been to dive bar in years, I felt right at home! EVERYONE SHOULD TRY THIS PLACE! If I was a permanent resident there, it would be my home away from home!

A definite hole-in-the-wall vibe to it, but man they have a great catfish platter! 2 big fillets with corn hushpuppies, and crispy onion rings (subbed for fries). Wish I had more projects in the area, but if you are nearby, definitely worth going in and grabbing a pint and some food. Ask for Eloy!

The Lakehouse 1441 in Bastrop, TX. has the most wonderful Cheeseburgers. The service is always really good. Friendly staff and fun people to visit with. They have really good bands too. I just wish they served something besides beer and wine. I do enjoy a glass of wine but I also like other drinks. The Cheeseburgers are more important though than alcohol any day. I wish I could remember the bartender’s name that waited on us inside. It was a Sunday and we came to watch the Cowboy game. She was absolutely wonderful. Also she was so quick and so sweet and friendly. It was a different name I’ve never heard before. My husband and I love coming to the lake house 1441. Thank you for such good food and service.
